Cass City Area Historical Society

The Cass City Area Historical Society is headquartered at Rawson Memorial Distirct Library, 6495 Pine Street in Cass City, Michigan. Meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the third Monday of every other month beginning in February in the Pinney Meeting Room at the library. The current president is Katie Jackson.

The purpose of the Cass City Area Historical Society is to bring together people interested in local history, to promote knowledge and appreciation of history of the Cass City Area and to procure such articles as may be deemed worthy of preservation.

They are now available for sale at Rawson Memorial Library. The first printing of both of these books was sold out some years ago.

We have had many requests for these books especially since VOL. II on the area schools was published a few years ago. If you do not already have a copy, come to the library and pick yours up today! 

Copies of "The Way it Was, Vol. II" (about the rural schools of the areas) are still available for $15.00.

The historical society newsletter that is enclosed with Rawson Memorial Library's newsletter each month has been copied and put into booklet format. These contain many stories and pictures of interest and can be purchased for $8.00 at the library.

This visual documentary portrays early pioneer life, the birth of the town, schools, churches, government and the business district. It is dedicated to the people of the Cass City area - living and deceased.
